Louise Bourgeois’ inspired life drawing session @ Art Makes Sense Live with model Emily Metalskin

When you combine the incredible art of Louise Bourgeois with a fascinating, dark and volcanic model like Emily Metalskin, the only outcome can be an explosive session: and in fact, that happened last night for the life drawing evening organized by the Dutch group Art Makes Sense. Emily created several scenes with accessories and wearable mini-sculptures to recreate the works of Bourgeois, all orchestrated to perfection by AMS and with a soundtrack based on Dead Can Dance and Leonard Cohen…in short, I could not ask for more.

I worked in ink and a touch of jelly gouache here and there on Canson A3 paper: the designs are all created with double-ended nibs and/or Japanese brushes and Dr. Ph. Martin’s Bombay ink.

Martin’s.
