Drink & Draw @ Union Street Belfast – Model: Gareth

With the return to normal routine, I am slowly returning to life drawing as well. I was actually waiting a few more days to start over, but I was invited by a friend to a Drink & Draw at Union Street Bar, which is one of Belfast’s flagship LGBTQ venues, and how could I say no? It was nice to put the sketchbag back on my shoulder after more than a month, and as soon as I opened the sketchbook I felt like it was just a few hours from when I had drawn the last time
Here are the drawings of the evening, of which I appreciated the originality and the fun and playful mood, as well as the ironic take on poses and nudity: I think it is a key to making life drawing more accessible to everyone, less intimidating.

Con il ritorno alla normale routine, pian piano sto tornando anche al disegno dal vivo. In realtà stavo aspettando ancora qualche giorno per ricominciare, ma sono stata invitata da un amico a un Drink & Draw all’Union Street Bar, che è uno dei locali LGBTQ di punta di Belfast, e come dire di no? È stato bello rimettersi in spalla la cartella da disegno dopo più di un mese, e appena ho aperto lo sketchbook mi sono sentita come non disegnassi da poche ore.
Ecco i disegni della serata, della quale ho apprezzato l’originalità e il mood giocoso, oltre all’ironia su pose e nudità: credo sia una chiave per rendere il disegno dal vivo più accessibile a tutti, meno intimidatorio.
