Drawing Cabaret Couture – Max Ernst special

This week the usual session with Drawing Cabaret Couture was very special: inspired by biomorphic surrealism and the work of the painter Max Ernst (one of my obsessions in high school), the session featured Gregory Ojakpe outfits worn by the exceptional muse Amaris Gillies, but above all the set design by artist Matthew Lawrence, truly outstanding.
As always when it comes to detailed garments, drawing them was not easy, and the extreme temperatures due to the heatwave that is hitting Northern Ireland these days has not helped the concentration, but I am satisfied with the few but valid results.

Questa settimana la consueta sessione con Drawing Cabaret Couture è stata molto speciale: ispirata al surrealismo biomorfico e al lavoro del pittore Max Ernst (una delle mie ossessioni al liceo), la sessione ha visto come protagonisti gli outfit firmati Gregory Ojakpe indossati da una musa d’eccezione, Amaris Gillies, ma soprattutto il set design dell’artista Matthew Lawrence, davvero da rimanere senza parole.
Come sempre quando si tratta di capi ricchi di dettagli disegnarli non è stato facile, e il caldo estremo della heatwave che sta colpendo l’Irlanda del Nord in questi giorni non ha aiutato la concentrazione, ma sono soddisfatta dei pochi ma validi risultati.
